Chase & Aubrey
We first met Aubrey back when she attended the Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis with us in Carmel. Aubrey's sparkling laughter and easy going nature made her a beloved friend to all. She ended up moving to Colorado for a new job and we hadn't kept in touch for a few years! However, we did see bits and pieces of her budding relationship with Chase through social media.
Before we knew it, these two love birds were engaged!
Aubrey and Chase originally hail from Vincennes, IN where their beautiful wedding took place. So many sentimental touches made the wedding a pleasure to photograph. Chase grew up attending the Bethlehem General Baptist Church. His parents and brother also got married there! The reception took place at the Washington Christian Center, formerly where Aubrey went to elementary school. Aubrey's sister made the lovely bouquets of flowers and her mom altered her wedding dress herself.
Both of their families came together with great love to celebrate the Trueblood wedding and it's truly a joy seeing an old friend find the man of her dreams. Chase proposed to Aubrey with a gorgeous ruby ring instead of the traditional diamond. It paired beautifully with the burgundy and ivory color scheme of the wedding.
One of our favorite parts of weddings is the first look. It's such a special time to process the last few moments together as a *not quite* married couple before seeing each other at the altar in front of hundreds of friends and family.
We had a sweet first look outside the church before heading to the George Rogers Park Memorial for bridal party photos. Getting all these photos done ahead of the ceremony always makes the rest of the day more relaxed as you can slide straight into cocktail hour and mingle with your guests. Literally one minute after we finished up bridal party photos, it started raining like crazy...we're talking wild winds and dark clouds overhead.
God was so good keeping away the rain until we finished!
At the reception, delicious donut holes greeted us alongside cute wooden heart signings and crossword activities about the bride and groom until the bridal party introductions.
Aubrey & Chase's siblings served as Maid of Honor and Best Man, which always makes for great childhood stories during the speeches. We learned that Aubrey is obsessed with squirrels and Chase got wise marriage advice from his brother, a veteran husband of 7 years! As a husband and wife duo ourselves, our hearts are always refreshed hearing such sage married folk!
Here are a few of our favorite sunset photos! An absolute must with the golden hour light :)
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper wedding reception without dancing the night away! Standouts included Chase's brother's 4 oldest kids who absolutely killed it on the dance floor. They definitely got dance moves from their mama!
Chase & Aubrey, what an honor it was to photograph your wedding and reconnect after so many years! Cheers to your newly married life as the Truebloods. We are wishing you both the very best and can't wait to follow along your adventures in the upcoming years.
