Adam & Zoe's South Haven Proposal
When we think of one of our oldest friends, Adam, a multitude of memories come to mind! I first met Adam when we served as orientation team leaders together at IU. Steven and Adam studied Informatics together, ended up rooming together in grad school, and now work together at Careband!
Adam and Zoe are two of the most authentic people we know. We’ve loved hanging out in Chicago together the past few years and felt nothing short of ecstatic when Adam told us he planned on proposing to Zoe over July 4th in beautiful South Haven. (Yes, the same South Haven you might have seen us visit a few short weeks ago) :)
If you know Adam, you know he thinks creatively and out of the box. To propose, he had a custom engagement ring made and had a geode ring box that literally looked like a rock! His sister, Carly, helped hide the rock underneath a tree on the walkway to the beach. As Adam and his family approached the beach, he happened to veer off to the side and “find a rock,” which he showed to Zoe. Little did she know this rock would change the rest of their lives forever.
Steven hid on the beach with Noah and flew a drone to capture video footage of the momentous proposal moment. You can check out the video long recap here!
The best part of this whole surprise? It was a whole day of surprises! Adam’s parents had absolutely no idea it was happening, so it was a surprise for them too :) Adam joyfully told Zoe that they could Facetime her parents when they got back to the home. No Facetime turned out to be needed as they were standing there in the flesh! They drove in for the day from Wisconsin to watch their daughter get engaged.
Meanwhile, Adam’s sisters decorated the back porch with cute couple photos, a purple A&Z cake, champagne, and custom A&Z coasters to celebrate the engagement. Such a fun surprise!
We ended the day with a beautiful photoshoot by Newcome Beach, including both sets of parents who served as my 2nd, 3rd & 4th photographers ;)
So thrilled for you, Adam & Zoe!!! We love you guys and can’t wait for your wedding. Mazel tov!!!
